Description
This Management Agreement can be used by both Artists and Managers when beginning a new Artist-Manager relationship.
The Artist-Manager relationship is one of the most important and essential in an artist’s career. Both parties must feel comfortable that the relationship is built on trust and transparency, i.e. the artist needs to know what the manager’s duties are and the manager needs to have limits on his authority and costs. A good management agreement, like this one from Indie Artist Resource, not only explains the length of the relationship and payment, but also spells out the duties of the manager and the extent his authority reaches. It also places clear limits on what costs the manager can incur and makes sure the artist is not being charged for tasks he shouldn’t be or for items the manager is also doing for other artists (such as traveling on behalf of more than one client).
This agreement comes with instructions on how to complete the agreement and can be used repeatedly for work with different artists (if you’re a manager) or a different manager (if you’re an artist and have ended a relationship with your previous manager).
